Why book with us instead of a booking site

The room is the same room either way. What changes is who you are talking to and how much of your money reaches the house.

01

You talk to the owner, not a call centre

Message our WhatsApp and the person who replies is the person who will hand you your key, cook your dinner and tell you which path down to the falls is quickest.

02

No commission is priced in

Booking sites take a cut, and that cut sits inside the nightly rate you see there. Our prices are the prices — 450 to 800 MAD a night depending on the room and how many of you there are.

03

You pay 30% now, the rest at the door

A 30% deposit by bank transfer confirms the room. The balance you settle when you arrive. Nothing goes through a card form on this website.

10-minute walk to the falls

The falls are a ten-minute walk downhill

Ouzoud is about 110 metres of water dropping in three stages — the tallest waterfall in North Africa. From our door it is roughly ten minutes on foot. That is close enough to walk down at sunrise before the tour buses arrive from Marrakech, come back for breakfast, and go again in the evening when the light turns the spray orange.

  • Go at first light and you will have the lower pools nearly to yourself.
  • Barbary macaques live in the trees along the path — wild, not fed by us.
  • March to June is peak flow, when the falls are at their loudest.

Exceptional Breakfast

Breakfast is included, and it is not a croissant in plastic

Every morning we put out a full Moroccan spread, at no charge, for everyone staying. Google calls our breakfast “Exceptional”, which is their word, not ours.

  • Freshly squeezed Atlas orange juice, organic mint tea, coffee
  • Warm msemmen, baghrir and harcha, straight off the pan
  • Local honey, artisanal amlou, homemade jams, olive oil, olives
  • Fresh eggs — plain or in a mini tagine — local cheese and yogurt

Dinner, if you want it

Most guests eat with us at least one evening. It is 120 MAD a person for a starter, a main, a dessert and water — usually a tagine, cooked in the kitchen here rather than reheated. You tell us in your booking message and we shop for it.

Outdoor swimming pool

The pool looks down the valley

It is outdoors, it is uncovered, and it faces the gorge and the hills behind it. There are olive trees and a shaded pergola if you would rather sit than swim.

Eight rooms, eight doors

Rooms & Booking

Rooms 1 and 2 are the family rooms and sleep four. Everything else sleeps two. Every room has heating and an electric blanket — Ouzoud gets cold at night, and we would rather you knew that in advance.

FAQ

Questions people ask us

About a ten-minute walk. It is downhill on the way there, which means it is uphill on the way back — worth knowing if you are carrying a small child.
